Lumina is an interactive wall installation that lights up when people or objects move before it. It uses LED lights that appear abstract, tubular, and organically shaped - similar to living coral in moving water. The premise behind Lumina is to correspond localized movement and energy to bright, white, positive light.
Direct daylight facing the installation will cause the most light changes during times of motion. Lumina automatically defaults to a "dormant" mode if there is no activity in front of it. If there is no activity, the lights flicker slowly at dim, calm levels, never turning completely off, so there is always something dynamic to view.
Lumina is designed to capture the attention of its viewers and create memorable experience. It can be configured to any wall size wall or dimensions, but is not intended to serve as a fixed light source. The Lumina piece illustrated here measures 52 inches wide by 28 inches high, and 5 inches deep.
